Rusty Nail's Industrial Week at the store.

For our second weekend with the store we decided to go Industrial. I love this look and it is a nice addition to any style. These are a few shots of the store. Yes it is tiny.

Industrial Cart

Just finished this Industrial Cart today. I bought the cart a few years ago to use in the workshop. It is great because it has industrial wheels so you can load it down and still be able to move it around easily.  I love it and saw a beauty in it, so I decided its life as a work horse was over.
I used an off white metal paint spray to clean up the metal.
I had an old barn door that was the perfect width and tall enough to cut out three shelves. It was meant to be. Now it is ready to be used in the kitchen, library, bedroom or wine cellar. It measures at 26" w x 66" h x 25"d. I am selling it for $300 this weekend at Rusty Nail's little shop at 106 Colborne Street West in Merrickville, Ontario. Sorry for pick up Only.

Industrial Numbers

I love large letters and numbers. I painted these on old canvasses. The base is an off white and the numbers are black. I will use the sander to distress the entire canvas then I will varnish  them. They are great to hang on the wall or just add to a display on a table or dresser.

Industrial Scale

We bought this scale a few years ago. It is a beautiful piece of Art and History. It was used at Health Canada to weigh parts of the animals. The scale works perfectly, so the only thing we needed to do was add a shelf below to allow for storage. We used old barn boards to add contrast and warmth to this piece. The shelf is great for stacks of magazines. This scale is pretty heavy so the big industrials wheels make it easy to move it around. We are putting it in our Industrial Sale this weekend at 106 Colborne Street West in Merrickville, Ontario. It will sell for $450. Cash or Cheque only. For pick up only.
It is a sweet piece.

Industrial Week

I love Industrial designs. We have had a few industrial items just sitting in the workshop waiting to be turned into usable specimens. This week we are finally going to put them to use. The first piece was an old linoleum roller. We made a crate to serve as the table part so you could still see the rollers and industrial wheels. It is a sweet little coffee table that weighs a few pounds. It measures d18" x w34" x 23" high. We are selling it for $300. Pick Up only.

My little shop.

We are cleaning out the studio and opening the Smallest Shop in Merrickville over the next three weekends. Here are a few of the new moveables we have created.
This was an old piece of tin ready for the dump. We salvaged it, cleaned it up, applied several layers of chalkboard paint and framed it out with some old cedar boards we had recovered from a barn. This newly up-cycled calendar is 37" x 39".
This cute shelf is made from an old drawer. The shelves were small scraps of wood flooring we could not throw away. They are too beautiful. The shelf is 16 1/2" x 45". It SOLD today.
I love this piece. We saved a wobbly table from the dump and found this old post office box. Together they screamed writing desk. Must find more like it. We kept it simple and just got out of its way. The store only has room for two people at a time to shop, so we expect to see a line up once or twice during the day. Can't wait to open the door.
